Protect exposed metal from moisture, oxidation and everyday weather exposure with TCQCDG™ Rust-Resistant Metal Protective Coating—a durable water-based coating designed for properly prepared steel, iron and selected metal surfaces.

Once dry, the coating forms a continuous protective barrier that helps reduce direct contact between the metal surface, water and air—three major contributors to rust and corrosion. It is suitable for restoring older metal surfaces or adding protection to new construction, equipment and outdoor fixtures.

The smooth formula can be applied using a brush, roller or compatible paint sprayer. Use it on railings, gates, fences, pipes, storage structures, metal furniture, machinery frames and other interior or exterior metal projects.

Key Benefits

  • Helps slow rust and surface corrosion
  • Creates a durable moisture-resistant barrier
  • Suitable for interior and exterior metal surfaces
  • Water-based formula supports easier application and cleanup
  • Can be applied using a brush, roller or sprayer
  • Adheres to properly prepared steel and iron
  • Helps improve the appearance of older metal surfaces
  • Suitable for new construction and maintenance projects
  • Provides an even, professional-looking finish
  • Available for residential, commercial and workshop use

Recommended Applications

Suitable for properly prepared:

  • Steel fences and gates
  • Iron railings and handrails
  • Metal doors and frames
  • Exterior pipes and brackets
  • Metal roofing components
  • Storage sheds and containers
  • Outdoor tables, chairs and benches
  • Machinery frames and equipment housings
  • Farm and workshop equipment
  • Metal cabinets and shelving
  • Structural steel components with an approved coating system
  • Automotive trailers and selected non-vehicle-body components

Compatible Surfaces

Designed primarily for:

  • Carbon steel
  • Cast iron
  • Wrought iron
  • Previously painted metal
  • Primed galvanized metal
  • Selected aluminum surfaces with a compatible primer

Always test adhesion on a small area when applying over existing paint, galvanized metal, aluminum or other unfamiliar surfaces.

Surface Preparation

Correct surface preparation is essential for achieving a durable finish.

  1. Remove dirt, oil, grease, salt and other contaminants.
  2. Scrape away loose rust, flaking paint and unstable material.
  3. Use a wire brush, abrasive pad or suitable power tool when necessary.
  4. Sand glossy surfaces to improve coating adhesion.
  5. Feather the edges of remaining sound paint.
  6. Remove all sanding dust and loose debris.
  7. Allow the surface to dry completely.
  8. Apply a compatible metal primer where required.

The coating should not be applied directly over heavy scale, loose rust or unstable paint.

Application Instructions

  1. Stir the coating thoroughly before and during use.
  2. Do not introduce air bubbles through excessive mixing.
  3. Apply a thin, even coat using a brush, roller or compatible sprayer.
  4. Work the coating into seams, edges, fasteners and difficult areas.
  5. Avoid heavy puddles, runs and excessive application thickness.
  6. Allow the first coat to dry according to the package directions.
  7. Apply a second coat when additional coverage is required.
  8. Keep the surface protected from rain, condensation and handling until cured.
  9. Clean tools promptly according to the product instructions.

Drying and curing time may vary according to temperature, humidity, airflow, surface condition and application thickness.

Important Performance Notice

This product helps protect metal from corrosion but should not be described as making every surface permanently rustproof.

Overall performance depends on:

  • Surface preparation
  • Existing rust condition
  • Coating thickness
  • Number of coats
  • Environmental exposure
  • Moisture and chemical contact
  • Application temperature
  • Maintenance frequency

Inspect exterior surfaces periodically and repair scratches, chips or damaged coating before corrosion spreads underneath the finish.

Application Limitations

Do not use on:

  • Wet, oily or contaminated surfaces
  • Loose or heavily flaking rust
  • Continuously submerged metal
  • Drinking-water tanks or potable-water systems
  • Food-contact surfaces
  • High-temperature exhaust components
  • Fire-rated assemblies without verified approval
  • Surfaces exposed to aggressive chemicals without compatibility testing
  • Moving mechanical parts requiring lubrication

This coating is not a rust converter, structural repair material or fireproof coating.

Safety Information

Apply in a well-ventilated area. Wear suitable gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. When sanding or mechanically removing old coatings, use appropriate dust control and respiratory protection.

Older painted metal may contain hazardous substances such as lead. Test and remove old coatings according to applicable safety requirements. Keep the product out of reach of children and protect it from freezing or excessive heat.
